Naxiu Folk Culture and Art Festival in Bili County

 The Naxiu Folk Culture and Art Festival in Rushi County has been held since 2000. Its predecessor was a joint performance of mass and religious activities. In view of the unique characteristics of the art performances in various towns and villages, in order to continue and promote traditional folk culture and enrich the cultural life of farmers and herdsmen, the Rushi County Party Committee and the County People’s Government have gathered together the typical and representative art and sports competition programs of various towns and villages to hold the Naxiu Cultural Tourism Art Festival and Cordyceps Trade Fair in the county.

        From the first Naxiu Cultural and Art Festival in 2000 to the seventh Naxiu Cultural and Art Festival in 2015, the performances have been more exciting and the content has been richer. During the Naxiu Cultural and Art Festival, people from all towns and villages in Buxi County gathered together in festive costumes, singing and dancing to share their joy and praise the happy life in the new Tibet under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Influential art programs include Dabu Axie, Dingga Reba, Dabukar, folk Guozhuang dance, original pastoral song competition, and herder style and image competition.

        Sports competitions include horse racing, stone moving, tug-of-war, and local fun sports competitions.

        At the same time, during the art festival, in order to promote the integration of “cordyceps culture” with other parts of the country, promote the Cordyceps brand of the three eastern counties of Nagqu, and promote Cordyceps tourism, Buer County held a Cordyceps Trade Fair. At the trade fair, the farmers and herdsmen’s economic cooperatives of various towns in Buer sold their local specialties collected this year, such as Cordyceps sinensis, Tibetan Fritillaria, Rhodiola rosea, snow lotus and other precious Chinese medicinal materials at the “Cordyceps Street” at the art festival. During the art festival every year, the transaction volume of Cordyceps alone reached more than 1 ton.
